Specialties

Dr. Nirain D’Souza specializes in the advanced care of foot and ankle issues and has been in practice since 2003.

As the only orthopedic surgeon in the tri-county region who performs total ankle replacements, Dr. D’Souza offers services that are exclusive to Midwest Orthopaedic Center. Additionally, he has a special interest in ankle arthroscopy and its use for cartilage reconstruction. Through his experience and training, Dr. D’Souza knows how to best customize treatment options for his patients. As such, he tailors care plans to the unique requirements of a variety of conditions, including ligament tears, collapsed arches and achilles injuiries.

In addition to his busy surgical practice he uses a range of biologically based treatments that do not involve surgery. Examples include platelet-based injections for arthritis, ligament tears and tendonitis. These simple office-based injections provide patients with relief and help them avoid surgery.

Outside of his work with patients throughout the area, Dr. D’Souza is a nationally certified instructor for high performance drivers. He’s also a racecar driver in his own right, speeding around Formula 1 and IMSA-sanctioned tracks across the country.
